About Sen Besey

The 'Short Bussin' Ken Kesey, is a “Myth, Legend” kind of man. He's so far out there he’s circled back around “in there.”

Stupidity is a fundamental characterisitc of life and all but guaranteed to occur. Success in our adventures and/or endeavors depends on our expertise in handling such qualities, and some people simply are not capable. It takes a certain kind person to navigate these particular obstacles on the road ahead, and it is the duty of those who can, to ensure others reach their proverbial destinations successfully.

He is on a similar crusade to open peoples’ minds, taking things further by way of a shorter route.

On the short bus ride of life there are only 2 options to choose from -

Ride or Drive

Choosing to Drive is no small thing. Experiences, adventures, etc are communal, and we all share in them from different angles, perspectives, and narratives. Therefore it is an ultimate accomplishment to become a Buss Driver. It means you are among the few who are revered for their legendary skills at navigating the treacherous ocean of stupidity in life.

Sen's Story

Besey has been around the block a few times. He has traveled substantially, and having grown up in a military family, is accustomed to a more nomadic lifestyle, moving from place to place. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Economics and Business from Boston University, Besey moved to New York City to begin his professional career in marketing and analystics.

Harlem

Sen spent over a decade in the Big Apple, living in a total score of an apartment at the top of Scrilla Hill in a place Kool Moe Dee calls the Wild Wild West. He enjoyed a park-side view and roof-access to one of the most epic 360 views of Manhattan possible.

There he began working in media as an analyst for large publishing & media companies, digital retailers, ad networks, and agencies. He gained an intimate knowledge of social media, content development, audience development, branding & marketing, and e-commerce.

While working in NYC, Besey was also very active in the EDM Bass scene. He saw shows almost every week for over a decade at legendary spots like Webster Hall, Terminal 5, Best Buy / Playstation Theater, and more.

On the side, he also began dabbling in art and technology. He loves street and grafitti art, and is partial to doing stencilwork himself. He also created LED gadgets and furniture using arduinos, raspberry pi's, and 3d printers. This led his interest in audio equipment.

When the COVID pandemic occurred, things changed. The city changed, the nation changed, and New York was no longer a desireable place to be, so Sen left. Unfortunately, that was the case for most places, so Besey drove south towards warmer weather, and just kept driving. He took a trip literally to the end of the road, and got lost in a weird and wonderful world that is the small tropical paradise, never to return.

Key West

He has an interestingly strange, or strangely interesting way of looking at life. Existence has a way of having its' way with us, and in order to overcome certain obstacles in life, Sen has learned a trick or two in dealing with funky situations. Key West has a way of attracting a certain breed of person, and Besey fit right in.

Down there, nightlife is big business, and Besey went to work. Along the journey, he was blessed to meet his angel in life, and hopefully for life, Trippy Britty from Tampa Bay. She also found herself at the end of the road during COVID, and the two of them came together in a universally magical way that was truly meant to be.

The birthday twins (yes, they have the same bday) joined creative forces, and created a business offering entertainment and marketing services. Together they created the island's ONLY weekly multi-night EDM music program. They operated at a rooftop patio bar on the busiest corner of Duval St. and threw epic parties for over a year before taking on a new client.

The pair moved their entertainment program to the new location, and continued their program 4 nights a week. Their business grew, and soon they were also hosting events at the local hotels and pool bars such as the Perry, Gates, and 24 North.

Despite their growing success, their time working in the entertainment space ultimately demonstrated that Key West was not the ideal market in which they wanted to operate. The dynamics of the island made it difficult to succeed in creating the ultimate vision that they have, and the rising cost of living made it clear that the "vacation" was unfortunately (fortunately?) over.

Tampa / St Pete

It finally became time to 'rejoin the world,' so to speak, and in order to pursue his larger goals in music and business, Sen and Britt decided to relocate to sunny Tampa, FL.

Sen Besey is another breed of BASShead. While he ultimately prefers Deep Dubs with their luscious, feathery, wobbly basslines that make you just wanna lerp around the dancefloor. The ones that put you a bit off-balance at the same time their just shaking your core. Those loungy beats, that are just as good creepin the streets slow in the whip as they are for creepin in the sheets with your honey B.

Since arriving in the Tampa Bay area, Besey and Britty have been 2 very busy B's, and they've been creating quite a buzz in the local Bass scene. They have been performing all over the area, in Tampa, St Petersburg, Clearwater, and Largo. They regularly play at places such as Heights Lounge, Tiki Bar, Steep Station, and Mad Chiller World, and also do pop up shows at the park, pier, and beach!

Be sure to catch one of their upcoming performances! These two give a totally unforgettable performance every time, and the duo's dynamic behind the decks is truly one-of-a-kind. There are big things ahead for these two, so stay tuned for their next wild endeavor.
